Irene Beckmann
Irene Beckmann, as deputy chairwoman, brings her passion for the Semmering region to the role. She studied educational science at the University of Vienna and focuses on issues of social formation and education within a historical context.
Having grown up in Semmering, Irene Beckmann has held the Südbahnhotel and the UNESCO World Heritage region of Semmering dear to her heart since childhood. During her guided tours, she takes her guests on a journey through the centuries, bringing to life the eventful history of the first hotel in Semmering.
In addition to her work at the Südbahnbühne Semmering, she teaches as a lecturer at the Institute for Educational Science at the University of Vienna and teaches culture & nature as a certified hiking guide in Semmering and the Vienna Woods.
Together with Josef Wagner, she published the book "Semmering – A New Beginning" (Böhlau Verlag). Irene Beckmann is currently working on a book that focuses on women from the UNESCO World Heritage region of Semmering.
During cultural hikes you will discover the diverse natural and cultural landscape, against whose impressive backdrop the Südbahnhotel has always shaped the appearance of Semmering.
